At Country Acres Custom Golf, our goal is to fit you with clubs that will actually make a difference in the way you play golf.
We employ a state of the art doplar radar launch monitor. This allows us to test actual shaft/head combinations and helps us to base fitting decisions on facts. You'll find the entire fitting process to be interesting, very informative and fun! Below we have listed some basic info about the fitting process.
The Process
We begin each fitting with a brief interview. We need to get to know you & find out exactly what it is we are trying to achieve. How much do you play? Most favorite------least favorite club? Typical shot pattern? Equipment preferences? What is the specific goal of an equipment change? These are just a few of the things we'll try to learn about you before we start the fitting. Next we'll take a look at the clubs you currently play. We'll check them for length, loft, lie, swingweight and flex. Many times this info will make it very clear why some of your current clubs are favorites and some are tomato stakes! Now we have you hit a series of shots with your clubs with a launch monitor recording the results. Some of the information that we'll obtain from this will be clubhead speed, ball speed, tempo, launch angle, swing path, clubface open or closed at impact, and shot pattern (slice, hook, etc.). Along with this, we will be doing a visual observation to determine things like posture, swing plane, ball position, and follow through just to mention a few. Next we gather all of the data we have collected and use that information to suggest test clubs for you to hit. We use the club conex system which means shafts can interchange with any head. This gives us literally hundreds of combinations. Once we have narrowed it down to the best choices, you will hit a series of shots, once again with the launch monitor recording the results. We'll compare those results to the readings taken with your clubs. You will have proof positive as to the improvement over your old clubs.
What Next?
Next we gather all of the necessary components. We carry only the finest in the industry. Heads are checked to see that they are exactly 7 grams apart. If they aren't, we either add weight or drill out excess material to remove weight. Shafts are frequencied and weight sorted. Grips are weight sorted. The 6 iron is built to a target frequency and the set is built around the 6 iron so you end up with a frequency matched set of irons. Shafts are specifically oriented in the heads to achieve flat line oscillation.
So Why Custom Fit?
You can see from this brief overview we have given that this is a painstaking process that is not achievable in a mass production scenario. Only when you have clubs that are matched to your swing will you be able to achieve the highest level of ball striking that you are capable of. This fitting we have described is a performance based fitting. In other words, the final decision is based on a launch monitor recording the actual results of the performance of the new clubs. Too often we see golfers walk into golf discount stores and drop $300 to $400 on a driver of $700 on a set of irons with no indication whatsoever that these clubs even come close to fitting their swing. Doesn't make much sense, does it?
So if you love this game like we do, you owe it to yourself to see what a
